Pepper Sprout Barn | Babies & Bumps

As we shared in our blog titled “Our Why”, family is everything to us at Pepper Sprout Barn. Whether it's our families at home, the family we’ve created within our team and of course, the families we are so fortunate to have met and worked with throughout the years, family defines why we work so hard and why we love our job so much.

To us, our job is so much more than just the wedding day. Sure, a perfect day is the end goal but so much goes into the day behind the scenes and the months beforehand that through the process we really get to know our couples.

From the day our couples book with us, we find ways to connect. Sometimes it’s sharing stories or comparing styles and it usually involves connecting on social media. We connect because as they begin their planning, platforms like Pinterest and Instagram give us insight on their vision and it's a way to share ideas and inspiration. Beyond that, we can share updates and news in their lives—good or bad. We get to watch them celebrate their best friend’s wedding, experience a loss of a loved one or in a recent case, we watched as they were hurt in a severe accident and made a miraculous full recovery. Knowing what they go through in life makes the emotion and heart of the day much more real.

We also stay in touch via email and text. Our couples know they can always reach out. Wedding planning is stressful, overwhelming and sometimes plain exhausting; so many choices, so many decisions. We always tell them we’ll give honest opinions or help research a vendor (we’ve been know to look for piano rentals and classic car rentals). We want them to know they can rely on us for advice, tips or just a friendly non-partisan voice.

Through the months of planning we get to know each other. We greet each other with hugs and cheer each other on through the little victories and highlights of life. We connect and only want the best for our couples. We become fans of each other.

Wedding day is a true team effort and as we work side by side with the couple, their families and their vendors, the end goal for all of us is always to ensure their day is a perfect as humanly possible. It’s a true joy to watch them go from nervous anticipation to happy tears to dancing the night away. The night ends in hugs and a bit of sadness that our time together has come to an end.

Because we stay connected we get to see life beyond the wedding day and what we’ve seen is our couples go from engaged to married to new parents and truly that is the best. thing. ever!! It’s the whole reason we do what we do, it’s what it’s all about. Family. New, happy couples building their own families, their own memories and to think that we had a small, tiny role in that journey is a gift bigger than we ever imagined when we opened our doors.

With permission of our couples, we wanted to share some of the sweet bumps and babies that are forever a part of our PSB family. Watching their love blossom into a new beginning truly brings so much joy to our hearts. Being a parent is one of the greatest joys in life and it’s so fun to watch people you know and truly care about get to experience that joy.

To our current and future couples…we think there might be something in the water, so proceed with caution! ;)
